AOL Set To Expand Live Programming, Susan Lyne

CANNES -  With the success of the HuffPost Live,  a 12-hour live interactive video program, parent company AOL  be will doing more live shows around both day-part programs and special events on its home page, says Susan Lyne, CEO of the Brand Group, at AOL.

The veteran television executive explains that a confluence of forces, including demand from marketers, is driving this new strategy around live programming.

We spoke with her at the Cannes Lions festival.

Ustream Makes Big Move into Video Services Sector

Ustream, the widely popular live Web streaming site, has been quietly moving into a full-services, video solution provider for small customers and  big enterprises and media companies  says David Gibbons, VP for Product Marketing, in this interview with Beet.TV

Some customers for the Ustream video platform include Cisco, Dell and Sony, says Gibbons.

We spoke to him about the evolution at Ustream at the Streaming Media East conference in Manhattan.

Brightcove Announces Live Streaming Platform

BOSTON – Brightcove, the big video services company, announced today a full-blown, live streaming platform.  The company allows the live file to be uploaded to the cloud and and then encoded into as many as 20 live renditions, says founder and executive chairman Jeremy Allaire in this interview with Beet.TV

We spoke with him at BrightcovePLAY, the company’s annual customer conference taking place in Boston.  He says the new service will be available to Brightcove customers but will also be available as a one-off engagement to others.
